Crafting Tailored College Readiness Roadmaps
FROM POTENTIAL TO PERFORMANCE
College planning begins in middle school! Yes, middle school. When your student begins middle school, the classes and their academic performance must reflect their readiness for high school. When colleges and universities review transcripts, they examine the types of courses the student is enrolled in. From Advanced Placement (AP) to DE (Dual Enrollment, college-level classes a student may take while still in high school), Admission Counselors like to see a student is up for a challenge. Preparing for standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT is also imperative to college planning. Recently, colleges and universities have not required test scores for admission; however, your state may have funding for students based on their scores.
Building your student resume is a part of this process as well. When applying for scholarships, businesses, and organizations are interested in how involved a student is in their community. Colleges and universities also like seeing how well students can balance their academics and extracurricular activities. Scholarships are no longer based simply on merit.
The Scholar Approach
Transcript Review: The transcript tells a story. Colleges and universities determine if you can handle the workload of a college student based on your academic performance. Our goal at TES is to help you improve your GPA each semester or quarter.
Providing Tutors: TES tutors are current collegiate students excelling in their collegiate careers. We match students with tutors based on the student’s needs and the tutor’s availability.
Elevating Student Resume: We provide opportunities for students to get involved in their communities through volunteer experiences and internships. It is imperative students are able to display their ability to balance their academics and community involvement. We work with several non-profits to ensure this.

Maricellyn McDonald, Class of 2027 Claflin University ✨
Monae’s expertise and understanding of the admissions and enrollment process helped me to navigate the application process by providing valuable insight, resources, and connections. Her support helped to bridge the gap between our family’s efforts and securing scholarship offers that would alleviate the financial burden of college.
Her commitment to the HBCU experience and enthusiasm for supporting youth resulted in nearly $150,000 worth of scholarship offers from Claflin over the next four years. The connections Monae helped me make resulted in me not only enrolling in Claflin, but helped me transition into college life almost seamlessly. Monae is the perfect person for families looking for someone who is driven, persistent, and integrity-filled.
🏆 Her journey, guided by Monae's support and expertise, is a remarkable testament to the power of mentorship and determination in achieving educational goals.
